Inside the Main Tavern you will find our lobby area, the Kipling Library, our dining room and 11 guest rooms (including two suites). Inn rooms are located on the second and third floors and can be accessed by stairs or elevator.
Attached to the Main Tavern is Phelps Barn, which houses our tavern/bar and an upstairs game room/sitting area (with cable TV).
Fun Facts: The expansion process of The Old Tavern in the early 1800s is responsible for the slope in the second- and third-floor corridors. In the process of doubling the size of the inn, the builders failed to match the floor levels which accounts for the slope.
The soapstone hearths from Phelps Barn and The Old Tavern were cut from old bathtubs, that were made in Grafton at the Goodrich Soapstone Quarries on Bear Hill (now defunct).
