A footnote about pricing...

Most all the wines are marked up 25% above our cost. Some of our older vintages, having been in our cellars for several years, are priced according to cellar time. This gives us the luxury of having aged wines at affordable prices. Ask about le Grand Bouchon to find out how you could win a weekend for two, simply by enjoying a bottle of wine!

Le Grand Bouchon - "The Great Cork"

We pull out all the stops at the innkeeper's annual wine cork drawing titled Le Grand Bouchon. Hundreds of our guests have now taken part in this exciting event.

Here is how the game works. While at the inn, you simply order a bottle of wine from our wine list. You then write your name and telephone number on the cork, and it is popped into the collection barrel with all the others (You may enter as many corks as bottles you consume in our dining room). Come November, Innkeeper Kevin is blindfolded and brought to the barrel. In goes his hand, and out comes Le Grand Bouchon! If that cork has your name on it, you will win a weekend for two at The Old Tavern. This will include deluxe room accommodations, breakfast, dinner both nights, a bottle of wine with each dinner and a gift subscription to Wine Spectator Magazine.

Obviously, there are no losers in this game, since we have assembled a wine list of superb quality at very low prices. But what an added pleasure to sipping your wine of choice: the dream that yours will be... Le Grand Bouchon!
