Big Red at the Phelps Barn

The Old Tavern at Grafton, Vermont

 

Big Red refers to the Wood-Fired Oven Hearth built in partnership with Glenn Rosinski Masonry (of Brattleboro, Vt.) and The Old Tavern. The Oven is finished with a Red patina and hence the name.  Our flatbread pizzas are made locally, by David's Catering in Putney, Vt., with a pre-baked “NAAN” which is the generic name for flatbread. All pizzas are served with a special blend of Grafton Village Cheese.  We make only one size and they are made to order. Bon Appétit!

The “Ho-Hum” (For those traditional folks…)

Our own homemade pizza sauce with our savory blend of spices and a special concoction of Grafton Cheeses only available to The Old Tavern. $6.95

 

The “Going Green”  (A southern Vermont favorite!)

Our inaugural burn gave birth to this signature flatbread with Pesto, onions and tomatoes and Grafton Cheddar, with just a squeeze of lemon. $7.95

 

The “Red” Sox Nation (No steroids, No Excuses!)

Sundried tomato pesto with onions and mushrooms and topped off with our special Grafton cheddar blend. $7.95

 

The Vermont “Pork Barrel” (no skimping here, direct from Montpelier!)

A special blend of Vermont Smoke and Cure sweet and hot sausage set atop of our own red sauce, spices and the perfect blend of Grafton Cheddar. $8.95
