The Old Tavern now offers massage services to our guests. This is a wonderful addition to your stay with us. 

60, 75, 90 min. appointments are available in Swedish/Relaxation Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage or Cranial Sacral Therapy.

Your massage may be enjoyed in your room or in another private location at the inn. 24 hour notice is typically needed.

Modality Descriptions

Swedish/Relaxation Massage: This form of massage combines slower fluid gliding and kneading motions intended to enhance blood and lymph flow.  The therapist applies light to moderate pressure to the muscles resulting in a calming effect to the body. Benefits: Reduces stress level, while improving circulation leaving you with a greater feeling of well-being and natural relaxation.

Deep Tissue Massage: utilizes the same strokes as Swedish massage but goes to a deeper level of the body's tissue.  This results in the release of adhered muscle fibers and restored circulation.  Benefits: Promotes increased ease of motion through the release of connective tissue in the body.

CranioSacral Therapy: This is a very light touch therapy, the weight of a nickel, which is used to help the body release tension.  The manipulations are done around the head, neck, shoulders and down your spine to the sacrum.  Benefits: By creating this deep relaxation the body has a chance to do self healing.

Sports Massage: This technique meets the biophysical needs of the "weekend warrior" to the professional athlete.  Specific treatments are tailored to the sport in which you participate.  Benefits: Promotes greater endurance, flexibility and recovery, helps prevent injuries and enhances body awareness.
